Mr. Wilthers
Mr. Wilthers retired from Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. after 20 1/2 years. He operated Wal-Mart Supercenter in Sherman for 16 years before retiring in 2002. Prior to that he worked in a newspaper industry for 10 years. He had the opportunity to work in several different cities across the country.
Mr. Wilthers wife, Sherry, is the Kindergarten teacher at Ector ISD. They have two sons who also operate Wal-Mart stores in Greenville, and Amarillo, Texas. They have one grandson who is 11 years old and lives in Amarillo.
Mr. Wilthers thinks Ector is such a great school district because being a small school district makes the learning experience more of a one on one environment. In larger schools you are only a number. Small schools afford the students to realize and take advantage of a better education.
Mr. Wilthers is the facilitator of the ISS and AEP program of the school. In addition he is a substitute teacher when needed.
In Mr. Wilthers spare time, he and his wife enjoy traveling. They have a motor home which is known as the portable dog house. They travel with their three dogs. This past summer they went to Niagra Falls, New York City, Gettysburg, PA, and Hershey, PA as well as many other cities along the way.
