The RMHC Scholarship Program announces its annual 4 scholarship opportunities:

- a transcript
- a personal statement about your community involvement and career goals

The Slough Foundation Scholarship - availability-TBA. This scholarship is for all seniors who currently hold a 3.0 GPA and can demonstrate financial need. A list of required documents follows:
- completed, signed, & dated application
- one page essay about wy you have chosen your selected major and your need or this scholarship
- official high school transcript
- copy of ACT/SAT scores
- a copy of your FAFSA results
Don't Mess With Texas:
The 2010 Don't Mess With Texas Scholarship applications will be available. ANY graduating high school senior who is a US citizen and planning to attend a 2- or 4-year college/university in Texas can apply. Here's what you have to do:
- Write one essay (300-350 words) describing how you identified a specific litter problem in your school or community and the action you took to address it. -OR-
- Write one essay (300-350 words) describing how you would assist the "Don't Mess with Texas" campaign in its efforts to put a "Litterbag in Every Car."
- Provide two letters of recommendation for each essay - one from a school employee and one from a non-related school person who can verify your merit. Each letter should be in a sealed envelope with each source's signature across the seal.
Mrs. Jones will have applications and will let you know when they are available. This could be worth $3,000 or $1,000 - certainly worth your time! The deadline should be in April 2010.
Sam Rayburn Library and Museum Essay Contest:
Students interested in applying for this scholarship should write a letter outlining their achievements, not only in school but in church and civic activities. In addition, applicants will also need to write an essay on "Sam Rayburn's Contributions to WWII" that uses the resources of the Sam Rayburn Library and Museum. The essay should be 3-5 double spaced pages in length and include a bibliography of sources used for the paper. The student must also visit the Sam Rayburn Library before the deadline and may receive guidance from the library director. Five scholarships will be awarded: one $2,000 first place scholarship and four $1,000 scholarships. The deadline for this scholarship contest is in May 2010. AXA Achievement Scholarship program is offering graduating seniors an application if you meet the following requirements:
- be a US Citizen or legal resident
- be a high school senior planning to attend a 2- or 4-year college in the US by the fall of 2008
- be ambitious and motivated, as evidenced by outstanding achievement in school, community, OR work activities
- be recommended by an unrelated adult who can attest to your achievement
